Razorlight Biography

Razorlight are a UK indie group from London who first broke onto the scene in 2004 with their debut LP 'Up all night' which included the iconic Razorligh tracks 'Rip it up'' and 'Rock n Roll lies'.

Razorlight are led by frontman Johnny Borrell with drummer Andy Burrows who replaced Christian Smith-Pancorvo from the original Razorlight lineup in 2004, and the two Swedish born musicians Björn Ågren on lead guitar and Carl Dalemo on bass.

Career highlights

  • Razorlight performed at Hyde Park in London as part of the Live 8 concerts in 2005.
  • Razorlight have supported some of the worlds biggest bands including Oasis, Rolling Stones, Queen and Richard Ashcroft
  • Razorlight were nominated for 2 brit awards in 2007 including 'Best british band'

  • Razorlight came under fire in the press following the Live 8 concerts for not donating the extra money they made from album sales to charity like all the other acts which performed.
  • Razorlight played a gig on the roof of London pub the Hawley Arms in November 2008
  • The band were hospitalised in 2006 after their British Airways flights from Moscow was detected as having traces of radioactive poisoning.
